Wayne Daggs – 1963 (Slater High School) 

Wayne Daggs was a multi-sport athlete at Slater High School, starring in basketball and football under Coach Dorsey Sims.

Daggs was instrumental in leading the Wolves to the City Championship (1958-59), District 1, and Region 1 basketball tournaments (1960). He was named to the Tri-State Athletic Association All-Tournament team in 1961.

Daggs was also a member of the undefeated Tri-State Conference football team in 1962 and was awarded a football scholarship to Tennessee A&I University in Nashville in 1963.

Retired from Eastman Chemical Company, he and his wife, Lana, have three sons and 11 grandchildren. He enjoys working in his yard, playing cards, collecting ducks, and taking long drives with Lana. 
Wayne is the father of THS football standout Todd Daggs, who was also named to the inaugural class of the Bristol Tennessee City Schools Athletic Sports Hall of Fame.
