Hall of Fame Mission Statement

The Bristol Tennessee Schools Athletic Hall of Fame has been established to ensure the remembrance and maintenance of the rich heritage and traditions of the highly decorated athletic programs of Bristol Tennessee City Schools.

In addition, the Hall of Fame will serve as a vehicle for recognizing, preserving, and honoring those athletes, teams, coaches, administrators, and special contributors who have made historically noteworthy contributions to the school system’s athletic programs.

The BTCS Athletic Hall of Fame will include members from Tennessee High School and Slater High School. Tennessee High School, which first opened its doors in 1916, and Slater High School, which served black students from 1919 until its integration with Tennessee High School in 1965, both have a rich tradition of athletic excellence.
