Katie Sword
Head Coach

Coach Katie Sword is very excited to take over as the head coach of the Viking Swimming and Diving team this year. She may be new to the head coaching position, but she is no stranger to the program. A graduate of THS, Coach Sword swam for her father in high school, long-time THS swim coach John Connor. She also previously coached at Virginia High/Middle School from 2000-2005 and was the Head Coach at Vance Middle School from 2006-08. She served as an assistant at THS last year. She teaches science at Tennessee Middle School and has taught in the Bristol Tennessee City Schools since 2000.

Coach Sword and her husband Parker live in Bristol with their two children, Branch and Ginny. In her spare time, she loves to be outdoors and enjoys trail work. She also loves to see live music and she has been associated with the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion since the festival's inception. She believes that volunteering and stewardship are a big part of how she sees her role in our community outside the classroom.

Coach Sword is very excited to take on the role that her father filled for 35 years and can't wait to see the future for this group of Vikings.
